Timken cylindrical roller thrust bearings–Made to Timken standard tolerances, all Timken cylindrical roller thrust bearings withstand heavy loads at relatively moderate speeds. Standard bearings can be operate at bearing O.D. peripheral speeds of 300 fpm (15m/s). special design features can be incorporated into the bearing and mountin to attain higher operating speeds. Higer precision may be obtained when required.
Timken cylindrical roller thrust bearings mainly consist of two types, one is type TPS cylindrical roller thrust bearings, they are the same as type TP bearings exception washer is spherically ground to seat against an aligning washer thus making the bearing adaptable to innitial misalignment. Its use is noe suggested for operating conditions where alignmernt is continously changing.
The other is type TP cylindrical roller thrust bearings, they have two hardened an ground steel washers, with a cage retaining one or more controller contour rollers in each pocket. When two or more rollers are used in a pocket, they are of different lengths and are placed in staggered position in adjacent cage pockets to create overlapping roller paths. This prevents wearing groover in the raceways and prolonging bearing life.
