FAG Barrel roller bearings are single row, self-aligning roller bearings. these fag bearings are particularly suitable for applications where a high radial load carrying capacity and the compensation of misalignment are required. Their sturdy design has proven its worth especially in cases where shock-type radial loads have to be accommodated. The axial load carrying capacity of the barrel roller bearings is limited.The bearings are not separable.

Basic design
Barrel roller bearings of the basic design are available either with cylindrical or with tapered bore.The bearings with cylindrical bore have normal radial clearance, those with tapered bore an increased radial clearance (clearance group C3).

Tolerances
The FAG barrel roller bearings of the basic design have a normal tolerance.

Bearing clearance
Bearings with a cylindrical bore have the clearance group “normal” (no suffix), bearings with a tapered bore have an increased radial clearance
(suffix C3).

Alignment
Under normal loads and with rotating inner ring barrel roller bearings can compensate for misalignments of up to 4°. Our Technical Service will inform you on the self-aligning capacity at rotating outer ring or at wobbling inner ring.

Cages
Basic design barrel roller bearings have either moulded window-type cages of glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 66 (suffix T) or machined brass cages (suffix MB).

Cages of glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 66 can be used at steady-state temperatures of up to 120 °C. If the bearings are lubricated with oil, any additives contained in the oil may reduce the cage service life. Also, aged oil can reduce the cage life at higher temperatures; therefore, the oil change intervals have to be observed
